open for business

the hamtramck blow out has inspired me to make my vapor moan for satisfaction.

i've noticed about this scene that friends usually go see friends shows, or see the shows of somebody they've met and thought was attractive, or interesting, or wanted to bang...either way, you gota be active to get activity and what the fuck else am i doing but seeing the music around me. that's what i like about this city, these bands are so weird. and everybody's a riot to talk shit about. in fact thus far my favorite moment at the blowout was getting annoyed by lee marvin and talking shit about the fucks outside the knights of columbus, mr. fur coat, flyers in the bicycle, shwinn city, anybody was a riot ...

SO FAR:

i haven't seen any band that i'd never heard of that i liked a lot lotlot, almost.

THURSDAY:

SLOW GIANT, at WHISKEY IN THE JAR, ugly bar .. terrible sound .. band played better than they usually do. max has an unbearable complex of trying to mask his pretty voice with a little amp that makes him all fuzzy. as a friend remarked 'his complex is as big as he is'
i will never see a cello in that establishment, unless i see them play there again. i didn't catch any other bands because i was getting a wristband from this band so my blowout started here, thanks!

i saw a woman walk into the mens room, nonchalantly, and didn't exit in embarrasment .. totally pulled it off.

ATLAS bar was on the way back to our car. love this place, nicest bar owner ever. i heard that this guy andrew's gona buy it and change it to gorgeous george's which is a cool name. the set up is awesome, you can't be in that bar and not watch the band. great music inbetween bands.
i saw the guy i always see working at the belmont's band BLACK LODGE .. he def wanted to be david byrne, but he did a good job of it. he said some pretty funny stuff about gilda radner and nixon and i enjoyed myself. walking back to the car i noticed hamtramck has a great lot of houses i feel like i'd get raped by a ghost in.

FRIDAY :

went back to my new fav bar, atlast, and got kicked out for drinking underage. nicest dejection ever, with a smile on his face and no bad blood. see you in a year when i finally dont have to duck around! but really, in hamtramck ... thought it'd never happen. "you should of at least waited until it got dark in here" ... for sure, i thought i was invincible, invisible.
i wanted to see MATT JONES, but couldn't.

went to the bar i feel most comfortable at in a lot of ways, BELMONT and saw NOMAN some kinda irish pixies, made me wana raise my fist. i wish i could understand what he's saying cus he's pretty wordy in some songs. TONE & NICHE played next. and damnit niche can rock out on the violin, how do you make that shit weep like that and then headbang the next second. funny remark, everytime tone announces the song name i think god, name sucks, that songs gona be terrible and then it's like yes, yeah, alright...the patio was somewhat open, good news!
worst door placement ever.

saw the cyborg selling beanie doll heads and cigarettes again, from whiskey in a jar.

went over to jets for a moment, neeeeeeeeded a slice. armchghg.

stopped into paychecks saw WILDCATTING for a minute, got bored and started the trek to K of C. my friends wouldn't go into smalls with me to see HIGH STRUNG cus they played with them eons ago and didn't dig it...but i heard they were good.

on the way passed by an art studio that looked like no business, just a fun house.
a bulletholed glass window with no shutters and a circle of scary looking mobby men menacingly gazing at us thru the window.

LEE MARVIN COMPUTER ARM was loud and annoying. i didn't like the singers voice at all.
stumbed into the back room, with some ambient shit going down. some bitch with jewels on her forehead and no pants on. tights, but no pants. tights aren't pants. all the effects were masks and layers on top of the origional shitty idea.

the bartender took my five dollars and tipped himself two dollars and gave me an extra small beer, funny.
my boyfriend and i got into a slap battle and nobody looked at us weird, funny.

saw the cyborg lady who we PASSED GOING THE OTHER DIRECTION< ONTHE WAY TO K OF C .. there is an army of them...

went back over for DIRTBOMBS, somewhat interesting. had a talk about the need for more vinyl b-sides in our lives, thanks dbombs. then walked back to the car and had singalongs over my house. 4 hours later, i had to go to work. here i am.

saw the creepy men on the way back again in the window, there were more!

wanted the turquiose house.

i'm excited for tonight! i'm printing out a list tonight so we don't make the mistake everybody i've run into is making..who are you seeing? i dono really, you? make the most of the time tanight, yes.
